It's been a long winter, but these two products stemming from collaborations with Gwyneth Paltrow brought a cozy quality.
I've long taken a seasonal approach to fragrances, and was elated to hear that Goop's foray into fragrances was both clean and seasonally based. Traditional fragrances are often the worst offenders when it comes to toxic ingredients, and clean fragrances can be uninspiring. This is woodsy, yes, but in a crisp, dry and smoky. The dry down simmers into a spicy, sultry note that stays throughout the day. It smells of forest and hearth, and thankfully none of the cloying Christmas-y notes of clove or nutmeg that often accompany winter inspired fragrances.
And there isn't anyone who doesn't look healthier with a cream blush. Nevermind the creepily contoured faces of Instagram – a more natural approach to definition is to dab the blush just beneath the cheekbones, starting from the bottom and working your way up. The cream blush lays nicely over any formula of foundation, or better yet, tinted moisturizer. And you get the same robust bloom to the cheeks as one would get from a brisky outdoor jog, or reading in front of the fireplace.
